CORE LEARNING

Learn to Fence — One Skill at a Time

Adult Intro combines physical training, technical instruction, tactical thinking, and supervised practice so you can begin understanding not only how to fence, but how to make decisions against an opponent.

Footwork

Learn fencing stance, advances, retreats, lunges, recovery, balance, and how to control distance while moving on the strip.

Blade Skills

Develop basic foil handling, blade control, attacks, defensive actions, and coordination between your hand and footwork.

Distance & Timing

Learn one of fencing’s most important concepts: recognizing when you are close enough to attack, when to move away, and how timing changes an exchange.

Strategy

Begin thinking about your opponent’s movement, reactions, and intentions while learning how to create opportunities of your own.

Fitness & Coordination

Build agility, balance, reaction, coordination, and endurance through fencing-specific exercises, drills, and movement.

Practice Bouting

Put what you learn into action through supervised fencing with other students and begin experiencing the tactical challenge that makes fencing unique.

COACHING | FAB EXPERIENCE

Learn in a Real Fencing Academy

Starting a new sport as an adult can feel intimidating. FAB’s Adult Intro program is built to make that first step approachable while still teaching real fencing fundamentals.

Students learn in the same fencing environment used by FAB’s developing and experienced fencers, with instruction focused on proper movement, blade technique, distance, timing, strategy, and safe practice.

FAB is more than a place to take a seven-week class. Adults who discover that fencing is a good fit can continue through private instruction, membership, open fencing, and regular club practice.

You decide how far you want to take it.

Adult Intro is the foundation, not the end of the pathway.

Adult fencing can continue well beyond beginner classes, including recreational and competitive participation.

You do not need competition to make fencing worthwhile, however. Many adults enjoy the sport primarily for exercise, skill development, strategy, and club practice.

Your First Fencing Match Starts with Your First Class

You do not need experience, your own equipment, or years of athletic training to discover fencing.

Adult Intro gives teens and adults ages 15+ a structured way to learn a new sport, challenge both body and mind, and discover an activity that can continue well beyond the first seven weeks.

Come learn the fundamentals, fence real opponents, and see where the sport takes you.
