CORE LEARNING
What Students Learn
Youth Beginner moves beyond simply trying fencing. Students begin developing the physical, technical, and mental fundamentals they need to fence with greater control and confidence.
Movement
Learn fencing stance, advances, retreats, lunges, distance control, and how to move efficiently on the strip.
Technique
Develop fundamental saber skills, including blade control, basic attacks, defensive actions, and coordination between footwork and the weapon.
Strategy
Begin understanding distance, timing, reactions, and how to make decisions while fencing an opponent.
Confidence
Apply new skills through drills and supervised bouting, helping students become more comfortable taking action, making decisions, and learning from mistakes.
Focus
Practice listening, concentration, self-control, repetition, and responding to coaching feedback during increasingly structured training.
Community
Train alongside other young fencers while learning respect, sportsmanship, responsibility, and how to be a positive training partner.
